Chalk Pastel Landscapes

 


Grade 5 students recently completed these chalk pastel landscapes.
On blue construction paper, they drew out a simple landscape, being sure to include a background, middle and foreground. Then they outlined all their pencil lines using a blue oil pastel. 


Then they coloured everything in using chalk pastels. 
I encouraged them to build up the layers slowly, blending between layers.
