Autumn Tree with Falling Leaves Painting

This project was inspired by THIS post from the wonderful Art Projects For Kids website.

Fall is my favourite season and we're lucky to have a beautiful fall in Canada!

Starting with 9 x 12" heavy white paper, Grade 4-6 students taped down a border. Then they painted a sky of their choice and then some autumn coloured ground. While it dried, students practiced drawing realistic bare branched trees and leaves.

Remove the tape and then students drew their tree and leaves.
I encouraged them to add a creative element of their own.

Then they coloured everything in using pencil crayons.
