This is an old lesson I did a few years ago with my Grade 2's at the time. A classic painted pumpkin with collage paper features to make a funny jack-o'-lantern. Students first drew a pumpkin on heavy white paper. Then they painted them using tempera paint. The next class, they cut them out and used scrap paper to make the faces. They always come out so funny!
