Torn Paper Owls

My former  Grade 3's made these adorable owls out of torn paper.

I found the lesson on one of my all-time favourite art blogs:
the fantastic Deep Space Sparkle page.

We did ours on black paper; the kids sketched a very basic owl body with a white pencil crayons, then filled in the body with torn brown paper (two different tones of brown).
Then they glued on a branch, beaks, eyes and feet.  So cute!

Hi, I really love this project and did it with my students a few months ago but never took pictures. I wanted to share my idea of reading "Owl Moon" and making pictures like this on Pinterest. I "pinned" your picture with a link to this post. You have some wonderful ideas. Have you joined Pinterest yet? It's a great place to share! Here is the link to my pin: http://pinterest.com/pin/273945589803625616/
