Oil Pastel Portraits

I try to do at least one big portraiture/face drawing lesson with all my grades.  We go over proportion, and spend a class each drawing the individual features of the face.  I try to get students to bring in their own photos so the project is more personal.  Here are some examples from a former Grade 8 class- we used oil pastels and practiced blending and colour mixing  with them.

Ta da!
