My former Grade 3's made these adorable owls out of torn paper.
I found the lesson on one of my all-time favourite art blogs:
the fantastic Deep Space Sparkle page.
We did ours on black paper; the kids sketched a very basic owl body with a white pencil crayons, then filled in the body with torn brown paper (two different tones of brown).
Then they glued on a branch, beaks, eyes and feet. So cute!
